Our Process
Our decades of experience have provided us with a competitive advantage of a tried and true process for advising and supporting organizations with employee benefits. We have acquired a true understanding of the value of a systematic and repeatable process when it comes to the planning, execution and delivery of our solutions. Our personalized approach with each company begins and grows by going through the following 1-6 steps.
Planning and Education
As true advisers we work with you to establish your goals and vision for your benefits. We provide education on a full spectrum of options for funding and designing your company’s health plan and full benefits offering.
Assess Performance and Perception
Next we evaluate the output of your current benefits by understanding the employee perception and comparing it to trends and bench-marking data in your industry and region.
Strategic Design
We use the data gathered in step 1 and 2 to tailor a plan for your company. Strategic design is much more than shopping and spread-sheeting plans. This is about putting the pieces together to align your benefits with your vision and goals.
A Plan of Action
After providing an inclusive range of options, from traditional to progressive, we provide the education and recommendations for a 3-5 year plan. We meet your company where you’re at while creating the pathway to where you want to be. We are here to advise you every step of the way.
Communication and Delivery
Now it’s time for the roll-out. This is where we illustrate value, making your benefits feel and look like true benefits. We provide virtual and inperson education, personalized benefit guides, and a full depository of fliers, newsletters, and email templates. We believe branding your benefits program is critical during open enrollment, but also year-round.
Support and Optimization
The last step is an ongoing initiative. With your help, we assess our performance and use it for continuous improvement. We become your support team and advocate for benefits, putting your employees and the future of your business first. The magic happens when we accomplish our goal of synergy between cost-containment, empathy, and user experience.

Flexible Spending Accounts
BBG offers advice and implementation of Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) to clients. A Flexible Spending Account (also known as a flexible spending arrangement) is a special account used to set aside money to pay for certain out-of-pocket healthcare costs. These accounts simplify the process of reimbursement, and deposits made into these accounts are made with pre-tax dollars. Many organizations utilize FSA in their overall benefits strategy because of the flexibility it offers.
Employers may wish to make contributions to employee FSA accounts as a part of their benefits package, but are not required to. Every business has different needs, but our employee benefits consultants can help employers to understand the in’s and out’s of FSA accounts and if they are a good option. Please visit our page on Flexible Spending Accounts.

Medicare
Medicare is a federal health insurance program established by Congress in 1965. While it gives basic protection against health care costs, it won’t cover all your medical expenses and usually will not cover the costs associated with long-term care. It provides health care benefits for people 65 or older, people younger than 65 who have certain disabilities, and people of any age who have certain permanent medical afflictions.
Medicare benefits are divided into two parts. Part A primarily covers inpatient hospital, nursing facility care, and in-home health care. When you apply for Part A, you can then enroll into Part B. This second part covers most doctors’ bills, as well as some medical services and supplies. BBG’s professional benefits consultants can help you to navigate and comprehend the issues associated with medicare, because a large part of preparing for your retirement is planning for – and understanding – your health insurance coverage at age 65 and beyond. If you would like additional information, please visit our Medicare page.
Consumer Purchasing Guidelines
BBG offers guidance with the breakdowns of each benefit plan you’re interested in. As your company grows, it will need to figure out who is paying for each benefit and how different rating systems function so that you can evaluate which plan is ideal for your business. The Business Benefits Group is ready to assist with analysis and decision making to ensure that you’re heading in the right direction. Understanding the Needs of Employees
Your team of employees all have needs for financial resources and health care – and they need some help understanding the options they have available. Employees also want to know that they can manage a vacation once or twice a year without sacrificing their career, and that they are capable of maintaining the lifestyle they are used to when they are ready for retirement.
Assistance With SCA Contracts
The Service Contract Act (SCA) of 1965 was established to protect employees working for government contracts that exceed $2,500. It requires contractors and subcontractors to maintain wage, safety and health standards set forth by the Act for non-exempt employees. Contractors and subcontractors must also keep a detailed list of records to ensure these regulations are being met. The U.S. Department of Labor updates the SCA wage standard about once a year, and therefore it is important for your organization to remain in compliance with the Act.
Business Benefits Group is able to help organizations meet SCA standards. Our team features in-house experts and strategic partners that can assist with the administration of an SCA contract benefits package. We can help businesses prepare for an SCA contract, or ensure compliance for companies with an existing contract. Regardless of your organization’s needs, BBG will manage all aspects of your SCA benefits package, including making changes when necessary.
